Congress on Public Spaces // #CO_OPS

The Congress on Public Spaces was a series of three interdisciplinary events: a conference, public discussion and workshop dedicated to exploring changes in democratic participation.

It examined case studies of urban space transformations that stand at the important intersection of new technologies for democratic participation, the construction of future cities through alternative methods of design, and community mobilisation from territories around the world.

The Congress was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania; Lithuanian Council for Culture; Research Council of Lithuania; United States Embassy in Vilnius. The Congress was organised by Vytautas Magnus University, Jutempus Interdisciplinary Art Program, and Balticada, with participation of MIT Program in Art, Culture and Technology.
